Final Swarm Skill Tree Order - Where to Spend Keys First

The best Final Swarm skill tree spending order for beginners: core upgrades before chests, and what to unlock first with your Keys.

How does the Final Swarm skill tree work?

The skill tree is your permanent progression — Keys earned from runs and codes are spent here to unlock upgrades that apply to every future run. Chests give random gear; the skill tree gives guaranteed, compounding power. That’s why the safe beginner route is skill tree first, chests second.

What should I unlock first with my Keys?

Start with the nodes that scale your in-run damage — they make every run easier:

  1. Multi-shot nodes — the strongest early investment; more projectiles clear waves faster
  2. Projectile Count / Attack Speed nodes — multiply the effect of Multi-shot
  3. Health / Defense nodes — add survivability before the boss waves become a wall

After the core damage path is solid, branch into survivability, then consider chests with spare Keys.

Should I spend Keys on chests?

Only with spare Keys after the core skill tree. Chests are a gamble — you might pull something great, or nothing useful. The skill tree is guaranteed progress, so it wins every time your Keys are limited. Once your core upgrades are maxed or well-developed, chests become a reasonable way to hunt for strong gear.

How do codes help with the skill tree?

Codes give free Keys — which is exactly the currency the skill tree runs on. Redeem supdoggy (100 Keys), firstswarm and update1 before spending anything of your own. The extra Keys from codes let you unlock the core damage nodes much earlier. See the codes page for how to redeem.
